vitrifiedstudio is hiring an entry level assistant. We could use general help in the studio with tasks including shipping, prep help for every production station, general cleaning and organizing, and help pushing the orders through our studio and online shop. You do not need specific pottery experience, but it would be needed if you wanted to advance in the position in the future. It would be useful if you are comfortable handling clay at all levels of production, as we will need help moving the work through the studio stations. Also, we use adobe illustrator, and the back end of etsy and Shopify to manage our online shops, so skills on the computer in those specific programs would be useful. This is a position for 2-3 days a week, for a max of 20 hours a week. We can work with you to find a schedule that works with you and also the kiln cycles. Our studio is open 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, and most of the shipping is done in the afternoon between 12-3 pm. You will likely need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and be able to safely handle the pottery.
Our sales platforms are website shops in Shopify and Etsy. Some customer service via email may be required.

This is a production studio, and the ability to properly complete assigned tasks at production rates is required.
We are a custom urn pottery studio, and the work we make needs to be made quickly and correctly as most all of our orders are headed to funerals and grieving families. We have great pride in the products that we make.
The pay will be based on your experience level, starting at $20 per hour.
The most important part of the position is the hardest to describe. We make handmade custom urns, and we care deeply about our products. We love helping our customers, we love the work we make for them, and we know the significance of what we are making. This is not an ordinary production pottery studio. The things we make are often the hardest purchase a customer needs to make. The urns are often the most precious item that our customers will have. They will hold the cremated remains of their beloved person or pet. It will likely take you some time to get used to this, as it can be difficult at times to make and see urns all day long. Customer service is very difficult because we are assisting our customers (online only) at a very difficult time. But it is our dedication to creating these perfect urns, and feeling proud of what we are able to create as a team that also gives us the most fulfillment. It is important to us that we find a team member with a positive attitude and has the ability to work well as a team member. This is NOT a position for someone trying to simultaneously launch or run their own business, but we are looking for someone with a strong interest to work with us. We hope to find someone who wants to join us in this very special studio.
