This collection includes a range of sizes for infant urns thru full sized adult urns, and also a pet urn collection with color photos. Each piece is one of a kind, with options to customize with your actual photo made from your own images. The turn around time on these urns is very fast (about 2-7 days depending if we have the blank urn already made halfway), and price point is lower than the vitrifiedstudio etsy urns. All of the listings have an integrated design tool, so you can preview the urn while you are ordering. The tool is much easier to use and shows a better preview than the tool we have to use with the vitrifiedstudio etsy collection.

The modern pottery urn collection are well designed vessels, made with a unique locking lid. The text is a fired on ceramic decal on upper portion of the urn’s glazed surface, with an optional hand stamped, hand painted accent shape below. This is a handcrafted slipcast porcelain pottery line made from plaster molds created from a wheel thrown piece, so it has fewer imperfections than the vitrifiedstudio etsy collection.

We launched this collection in Fall of 2022 and hope to soon open up this line to wholesale customers, partner with funeral homes and loss support organizations and vet offices. vitrifiedstudio Etsy Collection

The vitrifiedstudio Etsy collection are wheel thrown, hand stamped text and shape stamps, and come in wide range of glazes and stamps. The text and stamps are in the unglazed lower portion of the urn in this collection. We can also do custom stamps, add photo decals to the urns, or help you to further customize your urn. For the largest urn sizes in the vitrifiedstudio collection we do use the slip cast shapes.

The Etsy urns take about 2 weeks to make (3 weeks for the largest urns), but there is a rush upgrade available to make the urns ready to ship in 7-10 days. There is an online design tool available, but the easiest way is to match one of the many listings designs in the shop and customize from there.

We started vitrifiedstudio in 2011, and have sold over 23,000 urns. For the Etsy shop, please message us directly on Etsy if you have any questions or need assistance with your order and urn design. We hope to soon open up a website shop for this style of urns that is outside of etsy. We hope to be able to offer a wider variety of clay colors and customizations on that off-etsy website shop.

More about the collections

Both lines are handmade in our studio in Portland, Oregon, but the modern pottery urn collection is streamlined with its ordering/design tool and faster production process, so we will be using that line to be able to reach more customers.
